Today we are going to work with some primary sources to better understand the characters and setting of The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald.

The links below will bring you to the document for your group work. Each group will need to come up with a definition of the word in the parentheses. Here is how you will do this:

  1. Read through the document together as a group. Ask comments and questions of each other as you work. You will notice that I highlighted words in your document that are important for your particular assignment.
  2. Together create a definition for the word based on what you have read.
  3. Check in with a Ms. Simmons, Ms. Andersen, or Ms. Ryan. If you answer is close, we will send you to a website to for the formal definition.
  4. Your group will create a poster for a word wall in your classroom. This poster should include the word, the definition, and an illustration.
